Every once in a while we hear about a cause that warms our hearts and reminds us of our greater purpose. TheHumane Society of Truckee-Tahoe came to our attention last year after our management company, Grand Pacific Resorts, gave $1,200 to Tahoe’s most beloved animal welfare organization.
The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe received another $2,500 donation in February after it won beCause Destination Matters, a crowd-sourced giving contest through ResorTime, a sister company of Grand Pacific Resorts. One lucky family was selected to present the check and spend three nights in Tahoe.
“ResorTime and its customers are making an impact by helping us give local pets a second chance,” explained Kara Carstensen, adoption specialist at the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. “This donation will provide food, vaccinations, and spay or neuter surgeries for two litters of puppies.”
The generosity didn’t stop there. ResorTime also launched a Vacation for Good promotion with 10% of select bookings going to the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. This generated an additional $300! Everyone at Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley is proud to be a part of a larger family that cares enough to make a difference in our local community.
ResorTime has another beCause Destination Matters contest featuring three new non-profit organizations. Visit resortime.com/giving to vote for the next $2,500 recipient. Then share the story behind your favorite cause, and it could be featured in a future giving contest.
